DRUG & SUBSTANCE RELATED DUII’S

A driver may face DUII charges for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Though most people associate DUII charges with alcohol, driving “under the influence” of a controlled substance – whether a prescription drug or illegal narcotic – will result in the same criminal charges and penalties as a standard drunk driving offense. Driving under the influence of drugs may be charged against a person who is discovered by law enforcement to be “under the influence” of a controlled substance.

In Oregon we are seeing an increased number of drug DUII’s, especially prescription drugs and marijuana. If you have been charged with a drug DUII you may feel like the odds are stacked against you. A skilled lawyer can greatly increase your chance of beating your drug DUII. I have tried drug DUII’s of all different kinds, including marijuana, prescription drug, and methamphetamine DUII’s. I have won many of these cases. You should call me for a free consultation if you have been charged with a drug DUII.

If you were arrested for a drug DUII you will likely be asked to participate in a Drug Recognition Examination (DRE). Under no circumstance should you participate in one of these examinations. You SHOULD however provide a urine sample when you are asked to do so.
